My First Footwear Giveaway!

As you saw in my previous post, I’ve just found a great, new footwear site (Shoesissima) for fashionable shoes in large sizes, and they have given me a pair of Dara sandals from their new SS14 collection to give to one of you lucky people!

I’ve Found a New, Large Footwear Website!

With the recent demise of Barratts, I’ve only been left with Evans (online only now!) and Brantanos to find women’s shoes in a UK size 10, so I was ECSTATIC to find another company this week to stop me from wearing men’s trainers!

Shoesissima only launched last year, and they cater for women with UK feet sizes 8-12. Their latest collection for SS14 is called Missima, and has been inspired by the latest catwalk looks.

The London-based company have hand designed each shoe in the new range, which includes sandals, suede courts, block heels, toe-capped flats and ankle boots. They are perhaps not as low in price as I usually like, with prices between £59.99 to £99.99, but this is justified by how well made the shoes are, and the range of widths they do to cater to our individual sizes.

Shoesissima were kind enough to give me a pair of ankle boots called ‘Petal‘ from their new range to try out for this blog, and let me tell you I was more than impressed with what I got!

My Gorgeous Petal Boots!

My Gorgeous Petal Boots!

These boots were inspired by recent fashion shows from the likes of Marc Jacobs, Balmain and Nicholas Kirkwood, particularly the elastic side gussets of the boots, which was a running theme with these designers.

The black ankle boots have a pointy, patent toe and a 70mm heel. I initially thought they may be too high for me to balance my flat feet on, but I have managed to walk quite well with them and haven’t fallen over yet!

I love how a mixture of suede and shiny patent have been used on the boots, as these contrast really well together, and help to make them look quite chic, and well worth their £99.99 price tag.

I’m going to team them up with bootcut black trousers for work and 3/4 length jeans or leggings for the summertime. They will pop out when I wear my vintage black dress if I’m feeling extra brave on a future date too!

Shoesissima have also kindly given me a pair of Dara sandals from their new collection to give away to one of you lucky readers!

Onesie Sale!

Yet again I’ve been to a sale and spent money I don’t have! This week it was at Matalan, where they’ve got a half price sale and I noticed these two onesies. They had lots of big sizes left which was fab, and when I tried them on I was impressed with their leg length- I’ve never found a onesie that has fitted both my curves and my height, so was pleasantly surprised and obviously had to buy both!  My excuse is they will be great for next winter, I’m planning ahead! The zebra-print style onesie was a bargain £6, and the grey one was £8, and as you can see by my awful changing room poses, they are very comfy and warm!

Sister-Style: Awards Night

Check out my little sister’s style in this first of many Sister-Style posts!

Nat attended an awards bash last night for her company, and she won an award! Her prize? A gorgeous Raymond Weil watch- clearly I work in the wrong industry!

The dress she wore flatters her tall, curvy frame, as it helps enhance her hourglass figure, whilst elegantly showing off her waist and cleavage.

I love this dress, which is from Quiz at Debenhams (£64.99), because it would cover up my baby-weight belly, and the silver shimmer and very detailed sections would help me stand out from the crowd!

Nat teamed the dress with a cute oversized purse by Debut, also at Debenhams, which cost £18.

This is definitely a dress I am going to be begging to borrow once I’ve shed a few pounds!

Bargain of the Week: £1.72 Watch!

This watch comes in 4 colours

This watch comes in 4 colours

As you know, I’m on a seriously low budget now I have had to give up  my job, so I’ve had to cut down on my accessories, clothes and luxury spending. However, when you come across brand new watches for only £1.72, this is not to be ignored!

I’ve been using Ebay a lot lately, for my son’s clothes, mine and random accessories, and as I was browsing, I came across this vintage, leather world map watch. It comes in 4 colours, and I chose white in the hopes it would compliment my skintone and match a lot of my outfits.

It’s shipped from China, so took a couple of weeks to come, and for that price, I was slightly worried about what the quality would be like. Thankfully when it arrived it worked and looked as cute as it did in the photo!

Let me know what bargains you have found recently, so I can add them here!

Get A Free Eyebrow Arch for #browarchmarch

The fabuloBrow Arch Marchus people at Benefit and Debenhams are offering us all free eyebrow shaping this month for charity- where do I sign up?!

#BrowArchMarch is a yearly effort in order to support the cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better (LGFB). They provide free services for women and teenagers suffering from the visible effects of cancer treatment.

For a small donation (they suggest £5), you get your eyebrows waxed and shaped to perfection, as well as advice on how to maintain them and the chance to purchase products to help them stay gorgeous!

I most definitely need my brows shaping, as since I have gone from the ‘tadpole’ look to the ‘slug’ look, I cannot seem to get the shape quite right, and I want to improve them to help the old face look as good as it can!

You can also participate in their March, which starts in Berkeley Square on 9th March and the journey will take you past iconic places, such as Marble Arch. You wear little makeup, so that at each checkpoint you get to have some beauty touch-ups by Benefit Cosmetics! Visit the #browarchmarch site for more details.
